Streaming Video - Greenlee Troubleshooting

QuickTime Troubleshooting

The free QuickTime player is required to watch streaming videos on the Greenlee School website. The QuickTime player can be downloaded from here.

If you have the QuickTime plugin installed and are getting "-5408 Time Out" errors you may have to configure your firewall to allow video streams through to your computer. The specific steps vary among different firewalls, but the basic steps are as follows:

1) Open the web-based interface on your firewall
2) Select Advanced, then choose "Port Forwarding"
3) If your firewall has a built in rule for QuickTime streaming you should enable it now
4) If your firewall doesn't have a built in QuickTime rule you need to open port 554 for TCP and 6970 through 6999 inclusive for UDP. Refer to your firewall's documentation for further instructions.
5) You can always download the entire movie and play it back with the free QuickTime movie player
