Bugeja to Provide Starters for The Washington Post Writer's Group Online RoundtableJames Hill, managing editor of The Washington Post Writer's Group, has asked Director Michael Bugeja to provide discussion starters in an interactive online roundtable whose contributors are editorial page editors from around the country. Hill and editorial director Alan Shearer have conceived the Roundtable as a transparent, educational project that enlightens the public on how issues of the day affect commentary (and vice versa). You can access the Roundtable here and join the conversation: http://www.postwritersgroup.com/roundtable.htm. The Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication also has posted the link for its membership on its "Hot Topics" blog so that they might participate: http://aejmc.org/topics/2009/06/conversation-starter/. Members of the Board of Contributors are Harry Austin, editor of The Chattanooga Times editorial page in The Chattanooga Times Free Press; Dick Hughes, editorial page editor of the Statesman Journal in Salem, Ore.; J.R. Labbe, editorial director of The Fort Worth Star-Telegram; Mary Ann Lindley, editorial page editor and columnist for the Tallahassee Democrat; Mark Mahoney, editorial page editor of The Post-Star in Glens Falls, N.Y., and recipient of the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Writing, and Dan Radmacher, editorial page editor of The Roanoke (Va.) Times. 2009-06-24 |
