The Greenlee School in Bulgaria

Dr. Daniela Dimitrova, Assistant Professor at the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication, visited Bulgaria with the purpose of attending the Atanasoff Symposium and establishing closer ties with the Journalism and Mass Communication Faculty of Sofia University, the oldest and most prestigious university in Bulgaria. She was part of the official ISU delegation together with Dr. Carl Chang, Chair of the Computer Science Department, and Jin Chun Xia, Ph.D. Candidate in Computer Science.

The Atanasoff Symposium took place from Oct. 3 to Oct. 6, 2006 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The keynote speakers included Mike Williams, 2007 President of IEEE Computer Society, John Gustafson, Chief Technical Officer, High Performance Computing, ClearSpeed Technology, Inc., USA, and Otto Spaniol, Chair of IFIP TC 6 Communication Systems and University of Aahen, Germany.

The event took place under the patronage of the Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov, who presented the Atanasoff awards.
