Bateman team wins honorable mentionThe Iowa State Public Relations Student Society of America Chapter captured honorable mention status in the national Bateman Competition. The team of Tiffany Daniels, Thomas Davis, Kearstin Habhab, John Kauffman and Kate Lewellen are among 11 other teams that received this status throughout the U.S. Two other local teams included Lara Christianson, Megan Enneking, Tiffany Hartkemeyer, Jenny Keeney, Emily Oliver, Kerstin Johnson, Kelly Ferneding, Kay Souvatrat, Abbey Townsend and Megan Clemens. All team members are Greenlee seniors majoring in journalism and mass communication except for Kauffman who is a senior majoring marketing. This year's competition sponsored by the Public Relations Society of America was to address the issues of academic dishonesty on college campuses. Teams were to develop a program to raise awareness of the long-term consequences of these behaviors. The ultimate goal being the development of students who prize honesty and carry that ethic into the workplace. One team, Students for Academic Integrity (SAI), sponsored an academic integrity luncheon Feb. 16 for department chairs. In 2004, two of four public relations teams from the Greenlee School won honorable mentions. It was the first time the School sponsored Bateman teams.
