last paper printing. Greenlee School Web TeamThe Greenlee Web Team is recruiting photographers, writers and designers to work on the School’s Web site. If you want to develop your online skills, plan to attend weekly meetings at 5 p.m. Tuesdays in 172 Hamilton Hall. Members must submit four projects each semester. No experience is required. Members also plan field trips or have guest speakers at meetings. Experience in this club may lead to class credit or a part-time paying job helping to manage the Greenlee Web site. ISU PRSSAFor $55 you can join Public Relations Student Society of America. Meetings are 6:30 p.m. every other Tuesday night in 169 Hamilton Hall. This semester PRSSA events include a Chicago Agency Tour Feb. 3-5, an etiquette dinner on Feb. 22 and an awards ceremony in April. PRSSA is also bringing in Chris Thomas, the publicist for the Elizabeth Smart family, to lecture at 7 p.m., Feb. 17 in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union. PRSSA President Emily Oliver said, “The ISU Chapter currently has 60 members and we won nine awards this year at the national conference in New York City.” If you would like to become a member or have any questions contact Oliver at ejoliver@iastate.edu. ISU student chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists“The ISU chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) is a pre-professional society for journalists of all kinds who want to become more connected with the business of journalism,” said SPJ President Alicia Ebaugh. National dues are $36 and this year’s local dues have not been determined. SPJ does not have regular meetings but the group meets when there is a speaker or an activity. This semester SPJ is having elections for all positions. Members are also involved in a program with Ames High School and First Amendment Days. Ebaugh can be contacted at aebaugh@iastate.edu. ISU TV“We have more fun than anyone else and turn people into celebrities,” said Dave Sprau, ISU TV general manager. ISU TV usually meets at 5:30 p.m. every other Monday in the break room of the Communications Building. Members can produce regular shows and specials. ISU TV is always looking for new shows. If you are interested in joining, contact Sprau at jsprau@iastate.edu. Ad ClubGain real-world knowledge of advertising by joining Ad Club. The club meets at 7 p.m. every other Tuesday in 172 Hamilton Hall. Dues are $30. This semester students can work side-by-side with advertising and marketing professionals to develop an integrated marketing campaign for the Iowa Credit Union League at the ISU IMC Conference, March 3-4. The Ad Club is starting its own advertising agency called “The Agency.” Representatives of The Agency will work with other campus organizations to promote events, design logos and T-shirts, etc. “Anyone who is interested in developing his or her portfolio may be a part of The Agency,” said Ad Club President Josh Riessen. “The Agency charges a small fee to help raise money for the Ad Club.” The Ad Club will also be taking a trip to visit advertising agencies; dates and destinations are still being determined. You can apply to become a disc jockey by filling out an application at www.kure885.org. DJs are then given time slots. General Manager Anne Greenwood said, “Time slots are limited and given on basis of seniority, then availability.” KURE’s Board of Directors meet 5 p.m. Sunday in the Terrace Room Conference Room in Friley Hall.
KURE events include a Kaleidoquiz, a 26-hour trivia marathon.
