Greenlee to hire magazine professionalstrong>Vacancy ID # 043514 Title PROFESSIONAL IN RESIDENCE Employing Department GREENLEE SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM & COMMUNICATION Appointment Conditions Term, 9 Months, Half Time, Appointment Ending 05-15-2005 Proposed Start Date As soon as possible. Job Description ISU has an opening for an experienced journalist to serve as coordinator for ISU's Meredith Magazine Apprenticeship, P.E.E.R. (editorial/advertising outsourcing) and internship programs. Duties will include developing collaborative relationships with Meredith Corp., students, faculty and staff; advising and supervising students working as apprentices and interns doing outsourced editorial and advertising assignments; facilitating regular meetings; reporting to Meredith Corp. and the School; and teaching. Other duties may include developing similar relationships with other internship providers and the School, and editing and coordinating internal and external publications. The qualified candidate will have expertise in writing and editing, page layout and design software, the ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously, meet multiple deadlines, negotiate independently and communicate effectively. Required Qualifications BA/BS in journalism or related field with at least five years of relevant professional experience in a national or international media company. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in journalism or related field with at least five years of relevant professional experience in a national or international media company. Salary Competitive, with benefits. Special Conditions This appointment requires travel and may require additional summer month(s) with pay. Position is renewable contingent on funding.
