August Internship Spotlight

Duties: I work on a show called Sports Action Team. I do everything from making phone calls to securing locations, to making props and helping on shoots. I have also worked on other shows and I was even used as an actor in one of them. I have done fact checking and helped out in the tape library as well.

Most Memorable Experience: My most memorable experience was meeting Mike Ditka. I was working on Sports Action Team, which is a parody of Sports Center, and Mike Ditka did some scenes in the show.

Special Contribution: After being at the internship for about a month, I was given the opportunity to act as a field producer on a small shoot..

Advice to Future Interns: Don't just go and find any internship. Look for one in an area that you really enjoy. A lot of times, the internships you stumble across are the best ones.

Also, make sure you don't turn down little things while at the internship. The people you are working for will give you more responsibility and better things to do once you show them that you can do all of the little things, even if they seem dumb to you.
