Duties: As a public relations intern, my biggest duty was to moniter CBS press. I read through every Boston newspaper looking for CBS mentions and compiling coverage packets for all department directors. I was also in charge of all CBS email. Emails would include everything from requests for news coverage to complaints about airing Rachel Ray instead of Dr. Phil. I also wrote announcements for the Community Calendar, and press releases for upcoming CBS events.

Most Memorable Experience: CBS Boston was the official news carrier for the Boston Marathon last April, and my supervisor asked me to help out the news team in the control room. It was really amazing to see how CBS operated during this huge Boston tradition.

Special Contribution: I was able to compose the Community Calendar, which is an online calendar made to encourage Boston citizens to attend non-profit events around the city. This was special to me because I was able to choose which organizations and events needed the most support. I felt like I was working directly for the non-profit organization by promoting their event.
