Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication

Job & Internship

The Meredith Apprentice Program (MAP)

Each year, five Iowa State University Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication students are selected to work for an entire academic year as apprentices on Meredith Corporation magazines. Magazines you may have grown up with, like Better Homes and Gardens and Successful Farming.

Students travel to Des Moines two or three days each week to research, write, edit, copyfit and fact check magazine articles. They attend editorial planning meetings, photo shoots and even food taste panels. They leave their apprenticeships with portfolios bulging with professional work samples.

And they get paid.

For more information on how you can find your way to a Meredith apprenticeship, contact Deb Gibson,
MAP coordinator, at (515) 294-0488, or dsgibson@iastate.edu
