Director of Graduate Education
and
Graduate Steering Committee
All matters in the Greenlee School graduate program are handled by the director
of graduate education and a two-member graduate steering committee.
The director of graduate education is appointed by the Greenlee School
director and serves at the pleasure of the director. The director
of graduate education supervises all aspects of the program, including
recruitment of new graduate students, initial advising, approval
of the Program of Study (POS) committee and POS forms, graduate seminar
topic selection and scheduling of graduate courses. He or she is
also involved in allocation of office space, teaching and research
assistantships, provision of building keys to graduate students and other matters.
The director of graduate education regularly consults with a two-person graduate
steering committee, who are elected by the graduate faculty of the
School. All major policy issues concerning the graduate program are
considered by the steering committee. Many issues, such as curriculum
changes, must also be approved by other School committees or even
the full faculty.
Students with concerns about aspects of their graduate program may report their
concerns to any graduate faculty member or take them directly to
the director of graduate education.
Currently, Eric Abbott is the director
of graduate education. The steering committee is composed of Daniela
Dimitrova, Suman Lee, and Lulu
Rodriguez.
