Major Awards

  • Pulitzer Prize (1983) awarded to the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel editorial staff for flood coverage.

  • Cassling Family Faculty Award for early achievement in teaching, 2009

Experience

  • Worked as a staff photographer for The Denver Post, 1983-1987; and from 1987-2002 as a freelance photographer, based in Poland, for National Geographic, New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, TIME Magazine and others. Continues to shoot stories for publications such as the New York Times, Washington Post and various magazines in the U.S. and abroad.
