- M.S., Agricultural Journalism, University of Wisconsin, 1970.
- B.S., Science Journalism, Iowa State University, 1967.
Publications
- Articles have appeared in Journal of Communication, Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly, Newspaper Research Journal, and Agriculture and Human Values. His latest book is entitled, "Having all the right connections: telecommunications and rural viability."
Major Awards
- Agricultural Communicators in Education Service Award (2002);
- Agricultural Communicators in Education Research Award of Excellence (2000);
- AEJMC Theory and Methodology Division Top Three Paper (1999);
- Iowa State University Wilton Park International Service Award (1998).
Experience
- Worked as a reporter, technical editor and communication strategist, and in the field of communication campaign design and implementation.
Current Research
- 1. Role of communication in diffusion of innovations theory.
2. International development communication.
3. The role of new information technologies in rural development.
