Articles have appeared in Journal of Communication, Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly, Newspaper Research Journal, and Agriculture and Human Values. His latest book is entitled, "Having all the right connections: telecommunications and rural viability."

Major awards:

Agricultural Communicators in Education Service Award (2002); Agricultural Communicators in Education Research Award of Excellence (2000); AEJMC Theory and Methodology Division Top Three Paper (1999); Iowa State University Wilton Park International Service Award (1998).

Experience:

Worked as a reporter, technical editor and communication strategist, and in the field of communication campaign design and implementation.
