Steven F. Mores
Steven Mores earned a bachelor’s degree in science journalism from Iowa State University in 1967 and a master’s in marketing and advertising from the University of Iowa in 1968. After graduation, he went to work for Harlan Newspapers. He is currently co-publisher with his brother, Alan. At Harlan, Mores has performed nearly every duty involved with the newspaper business. He was recognized as a Master Editor-Publisher by the Iowa Newspaper Association, and Iowa Journalist of the Year by the Small Business Administration. Mores earned the ISU Distinguished Service Award from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, was named Citizen of the Year in Harlan, and earned the city’s Leadership Award. Mores has served on the ISU Foundation Board of Governors, the ISU Alumni Association board of directors, the ISU Athletics Council, and the Presidential Search Committee that selected Dr. Geoffroy. He is currently a member of the LAS Dean’s Advisory Council and is a co-sponsor of the Mores Family Scholarship in Community Journalism, and is involved in the Harlan community. Mores has expressed interest in serving as a resource on internship and job information, as a resource on “small town” newspapers, and can arrange job shadow opportunities. |
